MILLBURY- James B. Morcone, 51, of Millbury, formerly of Westborough, died on Monday, February 1, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. He was the husband of Margaret E. (Manduke) Morcone.
Born in Framingham, he is the son of Donald and Phyllis (Powell) Morcone of Westborough. He was a 1976 graduate of Westborough High School and also graduated from Dean Junior College in Franklin.
Mr. Morcone was employed as a software engineer for EMC in Southborough.
Jim coached Millbury Pop Warner, basketball and soccer. He also belonged to the Westborough Men's Softball League and enjoyed golf.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his two children, Michelle M. Morcone and James V. Morcone both of Millbury; one brother, Michael Morcone and his wife, Mary Ellen of Westborough; one sister Cheryl Deal and her husband, Gene of Pittsburg; his mother in law, Marie Manduke of Westborough; his sister in law and brother in law, Marie and Peter Orlando of Westborough and Larry and Donna Manduke of Warren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, in Westborough for the outstanding care Jim and his family received while there. They would also like to thank Oncologist Dr. David Shepro, and Radiologist Dr. Beth Herrick for their continual care and support throughout Jims illness.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 5, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 4, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough.
